Pat & Tetiana’s NYE Elopement
We met Pat and Tetiana just a few short weeks before New Year’s Eve. They’d been planning their wedding for awhile, but just couldn’t fathom how they could spend upwards of $30 000 to celebrate with their family and friends at a traditional wedding. When they heard about our affordable elopement option, they jumped on board immediately - they saw that they could have a beautiful, intimate wedding for a fraction of the price, and we were ecstatic to be able to help them have a personal, meaningful celebration they could afford.
To be honest, I (Amy) really, really, really love initmate weddings, especially when I get to design the event. Rebecca and I had a super fun sourcing trip to the wholesalers in Mississauga, and then even more fun with our “Junior CWO” putting together the stunning and celebratory NYE themed floral backdrop. The theme was gold, black and white glam, and the decor flowed seamlessly from ceremony to reception through twinkly candelit vignettes and a glam NYE centerpiece.
When couples book their intimate weddings at the Studio by Unmistakably You, we are happy to work with them to implement their dream decor, or to take the reigns and create a stunning canvas for their I Dos. From simple and classic to over the top and elegant, we love to work with our vendor partners to create beautiful backdrops for their intimate wedding.
Following the ceremony, guests were invited to enjoy delicious charcuterie that we arranged and finger foods brought in by the couple while Tetiana and Pat snuck away with Rebecca for some artistic wedding photography. On their return, we introduced them into the room for their first dance, which was a show-stopping choreographed number including a dramatic lift at the end (it was spectacular!). They cut their cake, which they brought in from a favourite baker, and enjoyed about an hour to mingle with their guests, while they enjoyed the open bar. Meantime, guests signed the ‘guestbook’, which was a football brought in by Pat and Tetiana (I learned after the fact that the reason they wanted white and purple in their flowers was in honour of the Vikings…LOL), and grabbed candle favours brought in by the couple.
I can’t imagine a better way to ring in the New Year than to celebrate a marriage, and Tetiana and Pat’s guests had a fantastic time helping them to honour the new chapter in their lives. We had so much fun working with this lovely couple planning their affordable, personal, and so-very-special elopement.
