Think about the last wedding you went to. This Planner is willing to bet that it followed the traditional "wedding-wait two hours-cocktails-dinner-dancing" format. If not, kudos to the couple for shaking things up a bit! You want your wedding to be unique, and to showcase your personality, correct? Why not stray from the usual format and offer your guests a different reception experience? The following ideas will not only provide an unexpected twist to the norm, but have the side benefit of being budget-friendly. |

This Planner loves little twists on the ordinary, and if you're having a champagne toast during your wedding reception, why not make it a little more memorable by adding beautiful (and delicious!) hibiscus flowers to the bottom of the champagne flute? The flowers are completely edible (they taste a bit like strawberry-rhubarb), and are lovely as they open up from the bubbles in the champagne. You're not limited to champagne toasts, however. There are a multitude of other ways to use hibiscus blossoms. |

Food stations are becoming a popular way to get guests mixing and mingling at your wedding. The traditional plated meal has guests seated at their specified table all evening, and limits their ability to converse with other people at the wedding. It also restricts guests to only the food on their plate, without the option of second servings. This planner loves the idea of setting up your meal in stations, or at least partially in stations, so that guests can mix it up all evening and choose only the food they love. |
